What do I need to use ReplayReel?

An iPhone or iPad running iOS 26 or later, a PostHog project with web session recordings, and permission to access it. The app is being prepared; availability will be announced here.

Which permissions does my API key need?

session_recording:read is required to list and play recordings. organization:read and project:read enable project selection. query:read enables frustration and error tracks and most details. person:read is optional for displaying identities. Restrict your key to the necessary projects and use read permissions only.

Does it work with a self-hosted PostHog instance?

Yes. You can connect to US Cloud, EU Cloud, or a compatible self-hosted instance. Your server must be accessible over HTTPS with a valid certificate; HTTP connections are not supported.

Can I watch mobile app recordings?

ReplayReel currently supports web session recordings. Recordings from PostHog’s native iOS and Android SDKs are not supported.

How do I delete my ReplayReel data?

Remove the connection in Settings to delete its Keychain credentials and associated local data. You can clear the cache separately. This does not delete recordings from PostHog: ReplayReel is read-only. Before uninstalling the app, remove its connections to ensure their Keychain credentials are deleted too.

How do I restore a purchase?

When purchases are available, use Restore purchases in Settings with the same Apple account that made the purchase.
